No, that does nothing doesn't start play again, and doesn't even move the play 'pointer' to the next track! The only work-around that I've found to work is: (1) Press Play, (2) listen to hear if same or next track (it's not consistent, though 90% will be same track previously played), (3) if same track, press >> to skip to the following track.
