just a total shot in the dark here - could it be that your power supply (or power jack) is failing, and what is actually happening is you are losing power, then regaining it (lights up), only to lose it again? The jacks on the boom and radio (don't have a sb3) can be wonky. The power supplies don't last forever either.
One way to test if this is happening is to set lms settings-><player>, audio -> power on resume to "pause at power off, resume at power on". Have something like a radio station in your playlist. Then, when your observation occurs, it will tell you if power is actually being restored (your playlist will start playing). This is how the 26 day reboot bug used to turn my radios on at night :) If it doesn't, at least you will know that it's not rebooting/repowering.
