I think LMS produced playlist are UTF with BOM. I don't think UTF vs ASCII matter to LMS except but if editor was "dumb" it may incorrectly mix encoding. Since MAcOS is closer to Linux than DOS - I feel line endings (e.g. CR/LF vs LF) shouldn't be an issue but it is important to check, again in case editor messed up.
