and I think in Material you do not have an option to choose which plugins to update. You can view the update changes (by clicking on the plugin that is being offered to update) but there is no option to deselect. I have no issue with that - Material makes things simple.
However, if a change to LMS/Default resulted in inability to update via Material (because plugins cannot be selected) then that would not be a good outcome.
