I have been having problems with Live365 Favorites since I received my SB3 in May.
Usual Behavior: The usual behavior is that I save a station as a Favorite. After that, it will work the first time I try to select and play a Favorite. If I then go to another Favorite, and then come back to the first Favorite, I get the "Cannot Load Remote URL" error. If I then attempt to return to the second Favorite-- same error. Anytime I attempt to return to a Favorite after playing it once-- fails. Sometimes, if I disconnect and reconnect, or push power off and then come back a few hours later or the next day, the Favorites work again. New Behavior: I just observed started observice this tonight. These Favorites play every time. I can select one, go to another, come back to the first, etc., as many times as I want, and they still play. The weird thing is that when selecting them repeatedly, the SB3 displays the same old error message, "Cannot Load Remote URL," BUT IT PLAYS ANYWAY. The behavior is repeatable. I tried to think what may be different about these new Favorites. At first, I wondered if it could, for some unfathomable reason, be related to the fact that I created them from the squeezenetwork.com web site, rather than using the remote. But, that really doesn't make sense, and besides, as I considered things more, I remembered that I had created some other Favorites yesterday, also using the squeezenetwork.com interface. I tried them. Failure. Tried the other newly created ones. Success. Again and again, tried all of them. All the old ones fail. All the new ones succeed. Strange. One additional observation: NONE of the stations that succeed display any track information, and, ALL of the stations that fail display any track information (before they get into failure mode, obviously). Could that observation be significant? It really seems to me, a naive user, that the Favorites feature should work like this: Step 1) Create a Favorite. Step 2 - N) Select it and push Play-- then it should just play. Not just the first time, but EVERY time. Thank you Slim Devices for a nifty product. It works pretty nicely (mostly). But, it can sometimes be a little annoying when trying to use the "Favorites" functionality. If it is "pilot error", I welcome being set straight. If anyone has any thoughts on why some of the Favorites work, and some don't, and especially why the SB3 displays the error message, but then plays some of them anyway (even while continuing to display the error message), I'd be interested.
