Hi - because my NORTON subscription ran out and given that I have had a few problems with NORTON, I thought this year I would try McAfee.
So, I paid my £39 and downloaded their Security suite, and everything worked fine except my SB3. It was perfectly OK before, but not now - what happens is the SB3 fires up as per normal - it get to the "Now Playing" - meanwhile, the Slim Server tells me it can not find the SB3. All that happens is I can hear the SLIM SERVER "clicking" every 10 secs or so trying to establish a connection I guess? I have tried the SEVICE.MSC fix - nope. McAgee has SLIM.EXE captured as an "outgoing event" 20/9/2006 - "slim.exe tried ro access the internet and was blocked by Firewall" - when I click on SLIM.EXE and tell Mcafee to "grant access" - it does something and ends up bringing up a HACKERWATCH screen - why I am not too sure as there does not seen to be any connection to SLIM.EXE on this screen. Anyway, I am still left with the problem. I wonder if access has really been granted - but am not too sure how to tell as SLIM.EXE remains @ the same status - i.e. "slim.exe tried ro access the internet and was blocked by Firewall" with he old date. At least with NORTON you could switch the whole thing off! - not so with Mcafee. Any thoughts please? Thanks for any help.
