I too been having problems with the login process, I wanted to do it in
Perl and using Netcontrol, but so far had no luck doing the login to
Squeezenetwork.

I've been looking at the source code of Squeezecenter to see how the
login procedure is done, but I cannot seem to recreate it succesfully,
it seems it depends on some authentication mechanism consisting on the
current time, some cookies and an encrypted password.

I used to do it with the alpha CLI that was around for sometime, for
showing the clock all the time. I would connect the player to
Squeezenetwork (this is the easy, it can be acomplished right now using
this url:
http://localhost:9000/squeezenetwork.html?player=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
[where localhost refers to the server where Squeezecenter is installed,
and the XX is the MAC address of your Squeezebox player]) and then login
to SN and turn off the player.

Has anyone been able to connect to SN using some kind of automatic
procedure?, any help is apreciated...

For reference, the file of source code I've been looking is located in
Slim/Networking/SqueezeNetwork.pm , and specifically on Debian is
located on /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Networking/SqueezeNetwork.pm

Maybe this thread should be moved to the Developer forum?
