Hmmm, I'm a little confused (so what's new?). This bug would seem to describe the same issue:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7377 When the bug reporter claims the firmware is "incompatible" I believe he's talking about the required downgrade whenever switching back to the local 6.5.4 server. But then Dean and Brandon essentially say that this should _not_ be happening. And it remains a bug filed with severity of 'major'. So either it's expected or it's not. If it _is_ expected behavior, then it's not a bug. If it's _not_ expected then there must be some way that it shouldn't be happening, such as players with older 6.5.4 firmware only connecting to the old SqueezeNetwork (assuming that it's still running). Scratch 'a little confused' and make it real confused now.
