I did contact support and they couldn't help me out.... Said I did some research myself and that I found out it could be a beta unit. They explained what 'beta' means (like I didn't know that) and that this was impossible.
Then they started talking about the mac address and that there are routers who could refuse mac addresses. - If my router would refuse the squeezebox' mac address, who could I be connected to my wifi network and play music over it? Then they referred to some online docs about wifi settings, my router's SSID, the WPA/WEP Security key to make sure that this was all correct. - I know how wifi works, so don't take me for stupid and if one these settings wasn't ok, how would I be able to browse my music collection? Conlcusion: indeed, helpdesks take you for stupid and they know shit.
