Fixed ! (and thanx for your input SuperQ, I forgot to answer).
The support told me to ask the previous owner to remove the SB from his
account. After he did that I was able to add it to my own account and it
now works flawlessly.
I still don't get why it didn't work (it should have connected to his
account, no matter if the SB is in my house or his) and why it crashed
the SB (it could at least have displayed an error message), but it
works so everything is fine.

Logitech support is pretty efficient too.
