That's a very detailed and helpful reply.

My music sits on a netbook connected to a portable HD at present, which
is using a wireless connection to the Broadband router, so my setup is
totally wireless at present, but the netbook is in the same room as the
router, so no problems so far :-) You suggest avoiding a totally
wireless setup but as I say, no probs to report so far, even with
streaming of FLACs...
