I believe I understand part of the reasons why older SB-devices can't be supported, but I suggest you post a more detailed explanation than this so that we know what to ask Spotify for, or what to wish for from SB server 7.5.3. You mentioned that Spotify streams 160k/320k Vorbis. MickeyG told us that older players need transcoding "since there's not enough space in those players to add this feature". I guess that means that newer devices either support decoding of that stream natively, or that the firmware can be upgraded to support it, but that our older devices don't support native decoding of 160k/320k Vorbis (though at least SB2-3 is supposed to do some kind of Ogg Vorbis decoding - I have no idea if that is related other by name ...) and that there is not enough space to add that feature? And that some way or another the stream must be converted to a format our players supports. That would leave us with three options: 1. Transcoding on a local Squeezebox Server 2. Transcoding at mysqueezebox.com 3. Transcoding/different encoding directly from Spotify Regarding 1: Is that what MickeyG hinted might be possible if we voted? I guess that would only work on Intel? This is better than nothing, but for us with ARM-based NAS:es won't help much. Regarding 2: I can see this option probably isn't an option for Logitech, but it would be nice to see an official statement on that. I guess it would be a quite huge step to go from only linking users and services together, to actually process and stream the music. (But correct me if I'm wrong, maybe you're doing this in one way or another.) Regarding 3: Is this what you are suggesting we ask Spotify to do. Then more precisely should we ask for? Which format? Which bitrate? Maybe I've missed the whole point in my speculations. Maybe it's some DRM that needs to be handled on the players, or stripped from the Spotify service. Only one more reason for a more detailed explanation to your inability to support older players.
