*SBC* = Squeezebox Controller (the remote control part of the Duet) *ssh* = secure shell, which is a method of logging into the SBC from another computer, so you can edit files, type commands, etc. To do this you need to enable Remote Login on the SBC (Settings > Advanced > Remote Login). And you also have to know what you are doing on the Linux command line. An alternative to ssh on Windows is to use WinSCP, which provides a graphical interface for logging into the SBC and modifying files. *which static IP?* It should be an IP that is (a) within the range covered by your local network, (b) outside the range of addresses allocated by the router's DHCP server, and (c) not in use by any other device on the network. How about option 3? Does your router support reserved IP addresses (aka static DHCP)? -- aubuti ------------------------------------------------------------------------ aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85041 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
