Being more precise is easy. Instead of things like "it really doesn't work at all most of the time" or "is slightly more reliable" it may help to describe what you mean by "doesn't work at all", which could cover a lot of territory. What are you trying to do when it doesn't work? What response do you get that doesn't work, or is there no response at all? Simple things like that. The key to debugging problems is to be able to reproduce them.
