No, LMS is not the problem.

I guess it's time for some more information... First of all: I'm really sorry for what has happened. It's not what I intended to achieve with a small change I rolled out last _Friday_ (why people were seeing it before that day, I don't know). I only wanted to get rid of errors about duplicate MAC addresses that were flooding out log files. Unfortunately I still have to learn about all this infrastructure is working.

The underlying problem though is the fact that all your players out there indeed do create a flood of registration attempts with duplicate MAC addresses. Eg. Vortexbox is using some not so random invalid MAC addresses for its players which are identical across all installations. Some people are using faked SB MAC addresses etc. I'm surprised this hasn't caused more problems before.

This wouldn't be that bad if those players where sending a unique UUID in addition to the MAC address. But most don't send any at all.

I've talked to Triode about this, and I think he's trying to come up with a solution. But I can't say exactly if and when he'll have a fix for this.

For the future I think we should try to fix LMS not to depend on a player being registered on mysb.com. That requirement sounds wrong to me. And it's not in Logitech's interest to see a need for every player out there to be registered even if it's not really using mysb.com. I'm going to see what I can do.
