While there are a few standard and metadata can be embedded in the stream, metadata is often outside the stream to "encourage" listeners to play the web site and see ads etc. Does any other player show the metadata (e.g VLC) Favorites does nothing except bookmark the URL. Unless the metadata is in the stream - it won't be displayed - no "option" in Favorites will change that. BBCiplayer plugin is specially developed to display BBC metadata data made available on different non playing URLs. You may be mixing up URL parameters with Favorites as BBCiPlayer uses special URL parameters to assist with metadata.
