Squid-3 seems to have stalled somewhat but there have been a few patches from 2.5 backported in the last few months.

And more is coming. Big thanks to Guido for helping with this porting of Squid-2.5 patches. The list of 2.5 patches to port to squid-3 is still far from empty however, and a lot of work remains there.

Squid-3 CVS hasn't built for me for months with gcc-3.4 (see bugzilla 1024: http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1024) - this hinders testing quite a bit ;)

The likelyhood that this gets fixed is increasing rapidly.

Can any of the developers comment on if there anything that we (non coders) can do to get things moving again?

One good thing is to help processing the many Squid-3 bug reports, and make patches where possible.

The status of Squid-3 is that the feature freeze for Squid-3.0 has been released, moving Squid-3 back into open development status.

There is a several patches pending to get included in Squid-3 which is scheduled to go in as soon as I find a free spot. This includes both bugfixes ported from Squid-2.5 and a few interesting new features.

Henrik
