What I was pointing about the store-id being decided before getting any data is
for what i'm about to write.
What happens in a case when a user requests partial content and the server
denies it and returns full response? squid
cache that or not?
Cache full, and pass partial content to client.
So we can might try to store partial responses in a cache object specifically
for partial response.
Other approach: Store variable sized objects, which might extend during time.
Like in DB-systems.
Which means, NOT to have a 1-to-1 relationship between StoreID-slot (ref. to
rock here) any more, but many(1...9)-to-1,
to use buckets to store several, variable-length cached objects together.
Then storage of the 2'nd part of a range request is an extension of the stored
1'st part.
