Dear Squid Development Team,

I hope this message finds you well. First, allow me to extend my sincerest
appreciation for the remarkable work you've been doing with Squid. Your
dedication to advancing the open-source community has not gone unnoticed, and
it has significantly benefited our project among many others.

I am reaching out to seek your guidance on a challenge I've encountered. In the
process of integrating Squid into our product, I followed the instructions on
your Knowledge Base to compile the Squid source code on a Windows 11 system
using Cygwin. My setup includes Perl (v5.36.3), GCC (v11.4.0), and Make
(v4.4.1). After executing:

./configure --prefix=c:/squid --with-maxfd=2048 --enable-win32-service

and proceeding with the make command, I faced several fatal errors, such as
unused-parameter, redefinition, missing-declaration, format, and wrong type
argument to unary plus, to name a few.

Given your expertise, I was hoping you could shed some light on:

\1. Any potential missteps in my compilation environment that might have led to
these issues?

\2. The environment used to compile the Windows executable squid.msi available
for download. If it's convenient, could you share the specifics of the setup?

I understand the demands on your time and truly appreciate any insights you can
provide. The success of Squid is a clear reflection of the commitment and
support from developers like yourselves and the broader community, for which I
am deeply grateful.

Thank you once again for your time and assistance. Wishing you and your team
all the best in your ongoing and future projects.
