Did you set visible_hostname in your squid.conf ?

I have installed Redhat 9 system with squid-2.5.STABLE1-2.
While starting squid i am getting following errors.

#service squid start

FATAL: Could not determine fully qualified hostname.  Please set 
'visible_hostname'

Squid Cache (Version 2.5.STABLE1): Terminated abnormally.

Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 410
Aborted

Can anyone help me in starting squid? I am a newbie and just now learing 
Linux :-)

I have setup the hostname as linuxbox. My machine is not directly to net nor

it is having public ip.
