Please don't say "it seems okay", because that doesn't tell us anything useful. You're much better off posting the exact comman line used and the exact output given. (Changing the username and password in the post is ok) With wbinfo -a, did you see both a plain text and challenge response reply? Does basic authentication with the winbind helper work? > Is these steps still required before joining domain No. The steps you detail involve integrating PAM with Samba. Squid does not require this to use the winbind helpers. Adam
