Support for kevent/kqueue is not available in Squid-2.5. You will need to wait for Squid-3.0 for this.
Same applies on epoll support for Linux users, with the slight exception that another user has contributed a Squid-2.5 version of the epoll support, available from http://devel.squid-cache.org/.
