No, I was already running with --with-large-files before I upgraded. My changes were to add --enable-epoll --enable-ssl . So I think it must be a real bug, so I have put it in bugzilla at http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1673 Michael Young
