Looks a little bit like http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=2253
but is happening in a different piece of code.

Are you able to do two things:
 - repeat this bug with a current daily snapshot?
 - debug and produce a stack trace when those asserts happen?
