The Squid HTTP Proxy team is very pleased to announce the
availability of the Squid-3.1.0.4 beta release!

This release fixes a large number of issues found in the previous 3.1
release. Including install and build errors in some helpers.

All testers of 3.1 are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this release.

Particular Changes to Note are:

   - Regression Fix: Bug 2558

A fix made in 3.1.0.3 for bug 2395 caused Squid to release all objects.
Resulting in an eventual 100% TCP_MISS. Anyone running 3.1.0.3 with
caching is advised to upgrade.
This fix temporarily re-opens bug 2395 (FTP auth not working).

  - Polish ZPH configuration interface

Major alterations have been made to the ZPH patch (Quality of Service)
settings. Please see Release Notes or wiki pages about the new
configuration if you are upgrading from any earlier Squid-2 or 3.1
release and use this feature.

Please refer to the release notes at

if and when you are ready to make the switch to Squid-3.1
