We're running squid 3.0.15 on solaris connecting into an ICAP server.
I think you will benefit from an upgrade. There were ICAP efficiency
upgrades, memory leaks, large object RAM over-allocations, and FD leaks
fixed across the 3.0 and 3.1 series since your version. Any one of which
could have been the problem.
