The reason is very simple:There is a big difference in the code parts which are critical for the feature to work.
If you are willing to try learning a lot of code and porting it from 3.3\3.HEAD many will be happy but consider that you will be the main source to all the questions about the feature in 3.2 branch for at least a year..
