Murrah Boswell Jim, I have developed a system that does just what you want. It uses squid and a complete rewrite of squidGuard. I use MySQL instead of the Berkeley DB files in squidGuard, but update each day from the same sources as squidGuard. My system supports timed overrides for authorized users(user specified times) and personal whitelists (where authorized users can permanently override the blacklist). I am still working on the system, but it is essentially complete. I want to add quotas and time windows for when certain users can access the proxy. I have developed a web based administrative interface that controls all functionality and am in the process of completing a web based user interface for basic user management (i.e., personal whitelist management, change override username, change override password, etc.) .
