Hi Koos I doubt this is a squidGuard problem.
We run IDENT here and had the same problem when I set it all up. What happens is that squid will "optionally" require an IDENT lookup for each request - of course if it doesn't do one for the request, or if it is delayed, then it does not pass that value to squidGuard (although it will state in it's log that it has). The way round this is to change the following line in your squid config: I guess you have something like acl do_ident ident Change that to acl do_ident ident REQUIRED Then you should already have something like: http_access allow do_ident http_access deny all You may also be better off catching kids with the "default" acl and only making exceptions for staff/special users etc. That takes ident out of the equation for kids all together.
