Based on what I am seeing, the number of "recalculating alarm ..."
messages (in the log) in a 24 hour period is approximately equal to:
4(T*P)+(R*P), where
T = the # of unique times listed in time declarations:
weekly * 00:00 - 08:00
----------------------> T=2
weekly * 00:00 - 08:00
weekly * 18:00 - 24:00
----------------------> T=3 (00:00=24:00)
P = the # of squidGuard processes
R = the # of squid restarts
I know everybody was waiting on those figures.

The behavior seems due to a line in sg.y - in my version (1.1.4) it is
line
1576. I'll try commenting it out and see what happens (gulp!)

It means that you are using a time declaration in your sqiudGuard.conf
file. It sets an alarm for the time of the next relevant change.
