You didn't read the documentation well enough (and neither do I ;-). squidGuard IS running exactly as it is advertised. I just cut and pasted this from squidguard.org documentation pages : >The domain prefixes www[0-9]? and web[0-9]? are ignored by squidGuard in >URL matching.
