Thanks Rick, squidguard and all the folks on this mailing list. It is great that
everyone is so helpful. I used the info Rick gave me and it worked great. Of course
I restarted the machine and then had to fight with iptables and my firewall settings,
I could'nt remember how I got the automatic redirect to work, then I fixed
it.....AGAIN! Document...Document...Document, otherwise you will find it hard to
repeat your success....or failure.

Well seems to be working now.

Another odd thing though.....when I try a site on the blacklist, I get rerouted to
this site:

http://eps.new.search.new.net/apps/eps/eps.cgi?cid=newn6CPZ&dp_lp=16&dp_p4pid=oingo_inclusion_xml_19&dp_format=1.3&s=www.whitehouse.com&nnreq=dfedf85d770949b8865304ee2b1da970

Why? Can I substitute my own html page for when it matches a "bad" site? Maybe a
page that says, bad bad, you have tried to go to somewhere you shouldn't go......

Thanks,

John

        Super! It's amazing how a little success can keep you going, isn't
        it!

        It's easier than you think it is, and it makes a big difference in
        browsing speed!

        Ads are blocked with a destination group, just like porn. You then
        replace the ad graphic with a small (1x1) transparent gif. The
        web page will resize the blank gif as required. One secret to
        successful ad blocking is using an expressionlist. I also merge an
        independent list of ad servers into my ads/domains file (it is
        available in rm-blacklists.tar.gz below).

        Here's an example of the changes to your config file:

        dest ads {
                domainlist              blacklists/ads/domains
                urllist         blacklists/ads/urls
                expressionlist  blacklists/ads/expressions
                redirect                http://192.168.44.1/1x1.gif
                logfile         blocked.log
        }
