Scott, some answers will help diagnose your problem:

Which version of squid are you running ?
Where did you download squid from ?
Which version of squidGuard are you trying to run ?
Where did you download squidGuard from ?

Sincerely,

Giancarlo

Oggetto: *** The Berkely DB library is required for SquidGuard toCompile
***

SquidGuard People,

Hi. I'm a linux newbie running RedHat 9.0. I followed the step by
step directions listed on the maynidea.com/squidguard/faq-plus.html.
The BerkeleyDB install seemed to go fine. When I got to the squidGuard
portion, make install specifically, I received the error "The Berkeley
DB library is required for SquidGuard to compile. Get it from
http://www.sleepycat.com and use with --with-db-DIR or
--with-db-lib=DIR (default is /usr/local/BerkeleyDB)."

The last stmt before make and make install is
--with-db=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.2. Should this be
--with-db=/usr/local/src/db-3.2.9 ?

Scott.
