One thing I did notice, is that if I removed all my plugins, saved the config, logged in (which worked somehow), then added them back in, it would be fine. However, it didn't stick. Plus, the "Filters" plugin no longer worked in 1.2.9.

  So it could be a plugin that could be breaking things. Would it be
  possible to (if you have the time) run through and remove all
  plugins, adding one by one until you cannot login any more, and
  report your findings? Do you have register_globals set to On or Off
  out of curiosity?
Where do I set the register_globals?

I can do that, but jsut for the record, I tried to set up a "new" install of 1.2.9, with the default plugin settings, and it still happened. Still want me to do it?
