  Try using CVS to get the 1.2.11[cvs] version, or the 1.4RC1 version.
  I cannot see a need to use a port. The source code is pretty stable
  across platforms. What you're hitting is a small issue we
  accidentally introduced in the sessions in 1.2.9. Was fixed shortly
  after.
