In 5.5 SP4, don't see SMTP under Protocols. Only, IMAP4, LDAP, NNTP, and POP3. However, under Internet_Information_Services->Default_SMTP->Access- >Relay, I do have check mark in "Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to realy, regardless of the list above.". But doesn't work, I don't even get any event message as if did go through.
I tried "Only the list below" with IPs 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0, also tried just "All except the list below" only. In both cases I did get 2 event messages: 1) A new TCP/IP SMTP connection has been made to host 64.157.4.83 (for yahoo.com). Logfile: L0000001.LOG 2) The MTA is unable to route a report for message C=us;A= ;P=customcrest;L=WEB0302181756FGKQ90AJ to recipient C=US;A= ;P=customcrest;O=mail;DDA:SMTP=custom(a)FelixK;. MTA object at fault: 06000030. Check the routing table for a possible incorrect routing configuration. [MTA DISP:ROUTER 9 40] (12) This is somewhat frustrating. :/ Quoting [EMAIL PROTECTED]: > For Exchange 5.5 and above users, be sure in your SMTP Configuration u > have checked mark the "Allow All computers which successfully authenticate > for relay, regardless of the list above" > You can do this with this step: > 1. Open Exchange System Manager > 2. Expand the "Servers" section > 3. Expand "Protocols" > 4. Expand "SMTP" > 5. Look for the SMTP that your company used, and then right click on it. > 6. You'll see the settings on "Access" tab > 7. Be sure you have checked mark the "Allow All computers which > successfully authenticate for relay, regardless of the list above". > > You can add the list of ip that allow your server to be relayed by insert > them to the access list.
