Yes, this is correct.

Erm... Have you ever looked at a Maildir folder before?  The folder you
created 'test' *is* inside INBOX.  INBOX being the Maildir/ folder, it's
mail kept in Maildir/cur, while your 'test' folder is now Maildir/.test and
mail is stored in Maildir/.test/cur.  As you can see, 'test' is underneath
Maildir.

This is probably more of 'bug' in SquirrelMail in the fact that it is
allowing you to select INBOX when you have the default prefix set to INBOX.

I can see why... it does make sense.  I think there needs a little work in
both 1.4, and 1.2 on that tiny bit.
