And also phpinfo shows that register_globals are turned on... Still wont
work =(

yes, this is with mysql +dbmail + SM mail 1.2.11 +  Redhat 8.0
make sure you modified the correct php.ini.
run a php file with phpinfo() to see if you actually set globals = on.
