I am using SM 1.4.1 and using imapproxy and SM 1.4.1 detects immap proxy loosing connection. I emailed the immapproxy folks and pointed me to the below answer. anybody can explain this to me in layman terms? which one do we fix?
Robert imapd - "lost mailbox lock" [Mail Servers] - admin - [EMAIL PROTECTED] @ 17:34:27 In using Outlook as an email client, a mysterious error may occur occasionally if IMAP has been configured as the email access protocol. The client will display: Your IMAP server has closed the connection. This may occur if you have left the connection idle for too long. The syslog (in this case /var/log/maillog), will show an entry like so: Feb 18 16:46:42 mogwai imapd[26816]: Killed (lost mailbox lock) user=zeek host=dhcp-54.sparklehouse.com [192.168.1.54] Although this routine doesn't cause dysfunctionality --mail will still be received on the server, it is annoying and will require the user of the client to acknowledge the dialogue with "ok" or "details" each time it appears. Multiple dialogues will appear if unacknowledged. Detailed explanations can be googled but most of these point to Microsoft's "attempt" at the IMAP protocol. After looking into this situation a few times, trials which included network sniffing, checking all options within the IMAP client, and looking through the registry, I realized there *must be* another IMAP client polling the server. Sure enough, I remembered I had configured the Opera M2 mail client just recently and it was most likely the culprit. In deleting the account created in this client, the Outlook annoyance disappeared. -- INTERNET CONFIDENTIALITY FOOTER This message is intended for the sole use of the individual and entity to whom it is addressed, and may contain information that is privileged, confidential and exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
