I've got personal address books running on the database and decided to give the patched 1.4.1 files from Tomas a try. I created the relevant table in the same database (and populated it with 46 records), backed up the files that were to be changed and then copied in the patched versions. The result? Nothing...at all. The global addressbook, which was originally running from a flat file, was no longer showing. There were no error messages, the global addressbook simply no longer shows up on the address books page. It is not even as if it can't find the database (I would expect to get an error from that). It is just like a global addressbook is not being run...just like when the parameters for the flat-file version are commented out in addressbook.php

It is very puzzling.

This is the current 1.4.1 squirrelmail (stable), Mysql 4.0.11 running on Mandrake Linux 9.1 and Apache 1.3.27.

The main reason for going for a database backend on the global addressbook was to get the address groups plugin working, as it seems to require that both personal and global books are running from the same type of sourse, otherwise it accepts entries to the group, but won't display any of them.

I've spent the last several hours puzzling over this. Can anyone shed any light? If you need more information on versions, or what I did then please let me know. I'm assuming that *someone* has got the global addressbook running from a database backend on 1.4.1?

best regards
