Say Folks,
After wrasslin' for 8 hours with a third party ATA board and a new Western Digital drive it seems that I may have to boot from one drive and run all my web apps from another drive. Over the last few months of accumulating software and reading specs/requirements I read "somewhere" that all the files have to be on the boot drive.
Did I read that about SM/PHP? It might have been about some of the other software I'll be running on this same machine but since the main point is to get SM going I need to make sure I accommodate it's needs.
I hope it's some other software as I've decided to try and cut my (time) losses and just go with the 2 drive setup rather than my preferred all on one drive.
This is on a Mac OSX 10.2 install with Apache and SM 1.4.1 and the latest PHP et al.
Since the drive on the internal bus is 6 gig I could run things off it and just do my mail store on the new 80 gig if SM will like/live with that.
This is my first foray into serving via 10.2 and using software other than webstar so any tips/advice are appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael Heth ServerSmiths
