What I'm sick of is Microsoft stupidity, and the continued irony in
people deploying this 'toy' called Windows. Their insistence in
supporting this legacy technology is what continues to elevates its
status quo. Can't respect anyone who continues to deny reality and
refuse to do anything to solve the problem such as removing the patch
cord off from the NIC on their Windows boxen.
It's the only way windows will ever be secure.

Anyone with even the slightest hint of a clue would use Linux or one of
the BSD's for the email servers and install procmail. See

http://www.impsec.org/email-tools/procmail-security.html

for an excellent sanitizer that will protect your users from these
silly worms.

My users have never ever ever been hit with a worm or virus using this
software. It requires a change in policy, A policy that should be
adopted anyway. This past week my security inbox has filled with
15000 security alerts from infected emails attempting to infect us.
I've found it necessary to temporary turn off the security alert
messages to keep things running fast.

Yes, I'm pretty frustrated. We are a Linux shop and just dont have
these stupid problems, but yet our email servers are being hammered
with tens of thousands of worm emails, and it's slowing down our
connections to the Internet. Sorry to insult anyone, but I had to get
that off my chest. We now return to our regularly scheduled
broadcast.

Ron
