We're running this software now. It save a lot of effort on the IMAP
server by eliminating the constant start-up/tear-down of IMAP daemons on
the server.

One thing though I've found with this software is that if the IMAP server
is not up when you fire up the proxy it'll hang. One thing to keep in mind
when setting up startup scripts :)

Thanks to Alex for this plugin. I'm trying to see if our IMAP
administrators want to support this feature to reduce the chatter
generated by filters, but so far I haven't gotten anything out of them on
this (In academia, the politics can be vicious, and with email being such
a critical component here the politics are extremely vicious. But that's a
discussion outside the scope of this list :)

I've had several people contact me experiencing the same thing asking me
how I solved my problems. I want everyone to see this and have it in the
