I'm using PHP 4.1.2 and Apache 1.3.26 on a Debian installation, and I have
the same problem. I don't use any proxies or accelerators.

I did some testing today, but since I didn't do it from the same LAN the
webserver and IMAP-server are on, there might be a proxy or cache
somewhere out of my control, though I doubt it. Internet Explorer was set
to "Check for newer versions of stored pages: Every time you visit the
page". I don't think this problem has anything to do with local caching.
This might be a long shot, but can it be related to the IMAP server?

This is what I did:

Removed msg A from Inbox first page using "Delete". Msg list updated first
page and msg A wasn't there anymore.

Removed msg B from Inbox second page using "Delete". Msg list updated
second page, but msg B was still there.

Clicked the msg B which was still there and recived:
-----------------
ERROR:
The server couldn't find the message you requested.
Most probably your message list was out of date and the message has been
moved away or deleted (perhaps by another program accessing the same
mailbox).
-----------------

I went back to Inbox using the link in the error msg, which put opened the
second page in the msg list. Msg B wasn't there anymore.

Removed msg C from Inbox second page using "Delete". Msg list updated
second page and the msg C wasn't there anymore.

Logged out and closed the browser.

Opened a new browser (IE with the same settings as above) and logged in.

Removed msg D from Inbox second page using "Delete". Msg list updated
second page, but msg D was still there.

Removed msg E from Inbox third page using "Delete". Msg list updated third
page, but msg E was still there.

Looked at second page again. The msg D was still there. Clicked it and
received:
-----------------
ERROR:
The server couldn't find the message you requested.
Most probably your message list was out of date and the message has been
moved away or deleted (perhaps by another program accessing the same
mailbox).
-----------------

I went back to Inbox using the link in the error msg, which put opened the
second page in the msg list. Msg D wasn't there anymore.

Looked at third page again. Msg E wasn't there anymore.

Removed msg F from Inbox third page using "Move". Msg list updated third
page, but msg F was still there.

Removed msg G from Inbox first page using "Move". Msg list updated first
page, but msg G was still there.

Removed msg H from Inbox first page using "Delete". Msg list updated first
page and msg G and H was still there.

Sincerly,
Fredrik.
