I created a default_prefs file in SMdefault/data directory with all the defaults I want set.  I wiped out my prefs in the MySQL database and logged into Squirrel Mail to see what defaults I would have.  I did not get the defaults in default_prefs that I setup.  It seems that when you use MySQL you can't set default preferences.  That is my observation.  If anyone knows differently, let me know.

You can hide the options by editing SMdefault/include/options/display.php.  You have to comment out the code that enters the options into the options array.

Patrick,

I think you can just add your default options in SMdefault/data file.

Anyway, I'm curious that how you do hide the core options? Because my site here also having a lot novice users.

Thanks.

Vincent

Subject: [SM-USERS] Setting Options

I am customizing Squirrel Mail.  I want to hide a lot of the core options so it is less configurable for my novice users.  I am able to hide the options ok, but I want to change the default setting of those options that are hidden.  Could someone point me to the php or configuration file where I can change default core options?

Thanks,

Patrick Liechty
