Computers don't break on their own unless you run windows or your hard
drive blows up.  What did you or someone else change?

Why didn't you provice detailed information about your SM, web server,
IMAP versions, etc.?

Sounds like you might have a php error; change in php.ini:

display_errors=On
error_reporting=E_ALL

then restart your web server and see if you get any errors printed out.
