I got the same error when I installed this plugin last week. What I did
was I changed the ownership of the file so that the user that apache
runs
as is the uid/gid owner. In my case, this was 'chown www:www
virussignatures.php'. To figure out which user apache is running as in
your instance, check the 'User' and 'Group' directives in httpd.conf.
