Yes. Setup the mail accounts as virtual users. That way, the IMAP server stores e-mail in a dedicated directory, and you might even have mail users that doesn't have a home directory. The major IMAP servers support that, but since I don't know which IMAP you are using, I can't tell you more about it. Check your servers manual. However, this is not a SquirrelMail issue, but a IMAP server one, so questions about how to set it up and other IMAP related questions should be sent to a mailing list dedicated to support your IMAP server.
