I've got local Linux users on my server (localhost.localdomain). Where I'm getting stuck.confused are the steps to create user accounts for their own domains eg: domain1.com and domain2.com, so I can then use SM to login in the way you describe.
How did you create user for domain1.com and user for domain2.com - I assume these are "virtual" users? Do your users access their email using domain1.com/webmail/ and domain2.com/webmail? Then, they enter their user name as [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc in SM? Many thanks for the help. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Alan in Toronto Sent: Sunday, March 14, 2004 7:15 PM To: tb Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [SM-USERS] Squirrelmail use an alias for senders email address tb said: > Many thanks. > > Maybe the smartest option is to have users on domain1.com go to > https://www.domain1.com/webmail/ and users on domain2.com go to > https://www.domain2.com/webmail/ to get their emails. > > I'll definitely try and find out how to create virtual users in each > domain. Forgive me if I'm missing something, but are your users' mail accounts all on your server? If so, then it's the same situation I have. My users can all have mail addresses at their own domains, but can all retrieve mail via the same SM installation. They just each login with the full address, e.g. "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" or "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", etc. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
