Hi all
I have a system which authenticates using NIS.
I have sendmail as my MTA, wu-iamp as my IMAP server
and SquirrelMail as IMAP client.
I also have installed change_password plugin with PAM
support which uses poppassd.

Now when i try to login through squirrelmail ...
there's success. authntication is done properly via
NIS.
But when i try to change password (NIS user password)
...
there's an error that says:

--> RPC: Can't encode arguments500 Server error,
password not changed

I can't think of the problem? is it PAM problem, NIS,
IMAP or squirrelmail ?
Someone please enlighten me on this.

my /var/log/messages says :

Mar 23 08:38:14 sshserver -- user1[24755]: LOGIN ON
tty1 BY user1
Mar 23 08:38:16 sshserver login(pam_unix)[24755]:
session closed for user user1
Mar 23 08:38:39 sshserver poppassd[26537]: PAM error:
BAD PASSWORD: it is too simplistic/systematic
Mar 23 08:38:39 sshserver passwd(pam_unix)[26537]:
password not changed for user1 on test-sfu

Is it because of "BAD PASSWORD" ?
but the error is some RPC error ?

Someone please help.
thanks
regards
-zapp
